Collection and Transportation Technology

Dr. Zeng Guang is the current Chair of ISWA Working Group of Collection and Transportation Technology, a member of Professional Committee on Waste Classification of China Association of Urban Environmental Sanitation, and Executive Vice President of Infore Enviro Group.  He is a graduate from the University of Science and Technology of China and his main research interests include vehicle development for waste collection and operation and management of waste collection system.

A Civil Engineer by training, Ian has spent over 20 years working in waste management, and during this time he has worked for both public and private organisations across the south-east of England.  These roles have included being responsible for the design and delivery of waste-related infrastructure projects, typically on closed landfills, Civic Amenity Sites and Waste Transfer Stations.  In other roles he has been responsible for managing local authority recycling and waste disposal arrangements, eventually becoming the leader of local authority waste disposal services.  More recently, Ian has further broadened his experience by entering the field of local authority waste collections, and has now led the waste services teams of a number of local authorities in London and the south-east of England.  Ian is a member of the UK’s Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM), and was one of the first people to be awarded ISWA’s “International Waste Manager” certification.
